Pickstock’s £24m+ Investment Brings Major Development to Ecclefechan
- 6th November 2026
Construction is now underway on Pickstock Telford’s new £24million-plus facility at Ecclefechan, Dumfries & Galloway, marking not only a significant investment in the region’s industrial infrastructure but also strengthening Scotland’s transition to Net Zero.
With completion anticipated in early 2029, Quantem are excited to be offering their services on this major development that will not only be providing hundreds of employment opportunities but will also deliver energy resilience and support significant carbon reductions by integrating energy and infrastructure elements, such as anaerobic digestion plant, combined heat and power plant and solar energy generation.
“As Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor, Quantem are delighted to be supporting Pickstock Telford in the delivery of this important and sustainable development in Ecclefechan. The project’s complex scope, particularly the coordination of utilities, services, and specialist operational equipment across the site, presents a rewarding challenge that the project team have embraced with enthusiasm.
As part of Quantem’s continued growth, we recently established our Scotland office in Edinburgh to support clients and projects across Scotland. We’re excited to be involved in a development of this significance and we look forward to seeing the project progress over the coming years.” – Fraser McDonald, Scotland Lead.
“Quantem have been a valued and intrinsic part of our delivery team at Ecclefechan, providing project management and cost consultancy support. Their practical approach, clear commercial advice and close working relationship with the wider project team have helped us manage costs, navigate complex delivery issues and maintain progress on site. They understand our priorities as a client and bring a constructive, solutions-focused approach to delivering them.” – Liam Davies, Development Director, The Pickstock Group
With an overall investment exceeding £24 million, including £4.7 million of support from South of Scotland Enterprise, the project represents a major capital investment in the South of Scotland.
It is encouraging to see this level of investment being delivered in Dumfries & Galloway, supporting the region’s future while demonstrating the role that well-managed industrial projects can play in delivering long-term value.
As the project breaks ground this week, the Quantem team are looking forward to the next stages of this transformational project. Stay with us as we follow the project’s progress as construction continues towards completion in early 2029.
