“After completing my A-levels, I decided I wanted to venture into a career within Quantity Surveying. I noticed that Quantem was offering a trainee scheme, which I was fortunate enough to obtain, allowing me to channel my interest in Quantity Surveying. Through this trainee scheme I have acquired a range of practical and theoretical experience through a combination of office work, site visitations and University work.
Since joining Quantem, no day in the office has been the same. I have developed a detailed understanding in a variety of sectors such as; Commercial, Residential, Retail and Education, to name a few. I have collaborated with the team on a range of projects (including pre and post contract roles) which has broadened my understanding of the various processes within the Construction industry.
The staff at Quantem are fantastic. From the moment I joined, they have been extremely helpful and approachable. All members of the team are always happy to assist me with my university studies and offer their expertise, which I have found invaluable. Quantem offers a great balance between work and social life, there is always an opportunity to celebrate the work we have completed.

“Upon concluding my second year at University, I had the opportunity to gain valuable first-hand experience working as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor at Quantem. For the duration of my industry placement, my development was highly supported and I was continually exposed to a variety of opportunities ranging from onsite experience to design team meetings or networking events.
Following a successful industry placement at Quantem, I was offered a Graduate role for when I achieved my Bachelor of Science (BSc) qualification in Quantity Surveying. As Quantem place a large emphasis on their employees achieving membership to the RICS, I am excited to continue utilising the support and knowledge on offer throughout my APC process and career.
Quantem have provided me with the exposure to a multitude of diverse and exciting projects within varying sectors that have developed my learning, experience and breadth of knowledge. They continue to provide me with opportunities involved in high profile schemes that are shaping the region amongst other dynamic and bespoke projects for different cliental.

Robert is a Partner in the Birmingham office specialising in Project Management. He has Twenty plus years’ experience on projects ranging in size and complexity.
Robert works hard to engender team spirit and an ethos for the team where the client’s requirements are paramount. Robert will plan ahead making sure that all risks are managed effectively and that there are the correct project controls in place. Good communication is an important part on all his projects.
Robert’s experience includes the full array of project management duties from inception and feasibility through to project completion. Projects have included a phased project in a live airport to developments on tight compact city centre sites including various city centre office developments. The variety of projects Robert has worked on has provided experience of large project teams with a range of different internal and external stakeholders to small internal client teams.
John has been at Quantem since the start in 2006 and has played his part in growing the reputation of the company, employing highly professional individuals delivering projects across a range of sectors and countries. John’s career spans 35 years and has a passion to ensure Quantem delivers a high-quality service in all of the projects in which it is involved.
He has an enthusiastic approach with strong commercial awareness and brings these skills to manage the team and project delivery. He adopts the approach of looking after money as it was his own, those that know John understand this ethos makes him a safe pair of hands.
Part of John’s role is to develop Quantem towards a fully responsible business, flexible enough to meet the changing needs of both clients and employees. His aim is continuing to grow a sustainable business, delivering a first-class service fully developing the skills of the employees.
