Smithfield Redevelopment Plans Submitted

We are delighted to share that the plans for the redevelopment of the Smithfield, Birmingham, site have been submitted for approval.

The 17-hectare site, that hosted numerous sporting events during last year’s Commonwealth Games, will reinvigorate this historical area of the city through 390,000 sq ft of residential space and nearly 1.3m sq ft of retail and office space.

Quantem are pleased to be providing Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent services to Plots 1D and 4A-1 of this exciting scheme. Plot 1D will provide 405 residential units and Plot 4A-1 will provide 127 residential units above a retail and leisure offering – including a pub called ‘The Smithfield Arms’ (featured in the CGI below!).

A decision on the planning submission is expected in early 2023. If approved, construction on site would begin later in the year.
