John has been at Quantem since the start in 2006 and has played his part in growing the reputation of the company, employing highly professional individuals delivering projects across a range of sectors and countries. John’s career spans 35 years and has a passion to ensure Quantem delivers a high-quality service in all of the projects in which it is involved.
He has an enthusiastic approach with strong commercial awareness and brings these skills to manage the team and project delivery. He adopts the approach of looking after money as it was his own, those that know John understand this ethos makes him a safe pair of hands.
Part of John’s role is to develop Quantem towards a fully responsible business, flexible enough to meet the changing needs of both clients and employees. His aim is continuing to grow a sustainable business, delivering a first-class service fully developing the skills of the employees.
Blake is one of the founding Partners of Quantem Consulting LLP. He is a team player who works well with people and brings with him knowledge and expertise associated with informing strategic decision making and understanding the risks involved in the development and construction process.
His energy and clear focus on client requirements help clients and project managers to ensure that project objectives are met and that costs are well managed.
Blake’s strengths are his ability to enable quick decision making through his in-depth understanding of construction costs and his positive, pro-active approach to working within a dynamic team environment.
Bruce is a founding Partner of Quantem Consulting LLP. He has have an active leadership role in the strategic direction of the business, always seeking to deliver operational improvements across all aspects of project deliveries and enhancing improvements.
He brings extensive in-depth experience of set-up, procurement and delivery of small to complex projects covering all sectors. Bruce always proactively pursues value for money hand-in-hand with identification and mitigation of risk underpinned by robust commercial advice to secure project critical outcomes.
Lee is responsible for our Birmingham office. He is a collaborative team player with extensive experience of managing entire project budgets on complex projects in various locations around the UK. He has an in-depth understanding of the full life cycle of projects and developments, is committed, enthusiastic and will ensure on behalf of Quantem that client project goals are met.
Mick is one of the founding Partners of Quantem Consulting LLP. He has invaluable experience in his role providing leadership and client care functions, in addition to delivering a first-class cost and project management service.
Specialising in Building Engineering Services, Mick integrates this important element into the overall project delivery.
He is a proactive motivator of teams, familiar with developing strong communication links between designers and clients.
Tom is a Partner in the Birmingham office, specialising in Quantity Surveying services and has been working in Birmingham and the West Midlands for over 15 years.
Tom is an enthusiastic and flexible member of the team. He is focused on providing a thorough service to Clients, adding value to projects and ensuring deadlines are met in an efficient manner. Tom predominantly focuses on the Industrial, Commercial and Advance Manufcaturing sectors, however he also has international experience delivering Avaiation projects within the Far East.
In addition to the work Tom undertakes at Quantem he has maintained an active role within the RICS. Tom is an APC assessor and sits on the RICS West Midlands Regional Board. Recently, Tom was awarded ‘Alumni of the Year’ by Birmingham City University. This is a testament to the hard work Tom puts back into the local market.
Daniel is a Partner in the Birmingham office, specialising in Quantity Surveying services and has been working in the surrounding area for 16 years. His experience extends over a number of sectors, working on projects from inception through to completion which predominantly focuses on the Commercial, Education and Residential sectors.
He leads a team of surveyors on a number of high-profile office developments in the centre of Birmingham. Being a team orientated individual, Daniel combines innovation, attention to detail and a likeable personality to ensure that he gets the best out of people and projects.
This together with his prudent and pragmatic approach, ensures that he not only delivers an exemplary service, but is able to problem solve in complex circumstances.
Ian is a dynamic and approachable construction professional, with excellent relationship building skills.
He has very significant knowledge and experience of cost planning, procurement and cost management over a wide range of type and scale of construction projects.
Significant knowledge of the Commercial property, Residential, Out of Town Offices, Retail and Sports sectors allows a holistic and experienced based approach to cost management. Ian has extensive experience of the City and West End new build and fit out Commercial property sector, as a result of a continuous involvement on development projects within London for more than twenty years.
Chris was one of the first graduates to join Quantem consulting and has now been with the company for over 9 years.
Passionate, commercially aware and focused Chris’s background in commercial office developments, fit out and residential markets has developed his skills in feasibility work that enables detailed estimates to be completed ahead of the design.
With his proven background in delivering both pre and post-contract services, Chris brings wide experience and an enthusiastic attitude to pre-contract cost planning, procurement and post contract financial management.
He has a hands-on approach and is dedicated to ensuring the key opportunities and risks for managing cost are determined through the course of the project. He understands the Client’s business plan and has the ability to develop the conditions to achieve these goals.
Chris has an enviable specialist subcontractor network, profound understanding of Clients and construction and strong track record of unearthing and adding value, whatever the parameters.
Andrew joined the practice in 2016 and has 30 years’ experience gained in both the consultancy and contracting sides of the industry.
He has significant experience in the commercial management of large residential and commercial buildings having recently been involved with the delivery of over 1 million square feet of mixed use development in a significant West London location. Taking projects from feasibility, through planning and on to practical completion, ownership of the issues throughout the project lifecycle is a key motivation.
Andrew has a reputation as an approachable team player, keen to become an integrated part of the Clients organisation and become a trusted commercial guardian. Equally at home with Design and Build, traditional contracts or full individual package procurement options. Knowing the detail and being one step ahead all the way along the process is where Andrew adds value to his Clients.
David is a Chartered Surveyor who joined Quantem in 2018 and was promoted to Partner in 2019.While his primary focus is Residential, he has a wealth of experience across a range of sectors undertaking both pre and post Contract roles.
David’s Client focused approach allows him to obtain full understanding of project deliverables to ensure successful project delivery while his knowledge and expertise help inform strategic decision making while understanding and mitigating the risks involved in the development and construction process.
His key strengths are his ability to facilitate decision making through his in-depth understanding and analysis of costs, his appetite to positively influence design to achieve the Clients commercial aspirations and his pro-active approach to working within a dynamic team environment.
Phill Howard has been with Quantem for over 6 years and has been managing Projects for over 20 years. During this time has has passed Prince2 Practitioner and APM qualifications, as well as becoming a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
Phill takes stakeholder engagement and communication seriously as he feels these are fundamental in successfully managing projects. He is of the view that unless he can explain something clearly and concisely, he doesn’t understand it himself. This approach has proven successful in gaining the trust and confidence of stakeholders involved throughout the project process.
Phill has managed projects across a range of sectors and relishes the challenges posed by the most technically complex and logistically difficult developments. He believes that nothing is impossible and as a consequence is a confident and practical decision maker.
Alex’s pre- and post-contract experience across a multitude of sectors means he has an astute commercial awareness, which makes him well placed to advise on how to optimise value in a variety of construction projects.
Alex believes collaborating with the design team to ensure the budget is understood and bought into from the outset is fundamental to the delivery of a successful project.
Delivering a high standard of service is extremely important to Alex. By taking the time to understand each Client and their business, he is able to tailor advice and deliverables to ensure the client is completely confident in all outputs.
Robert is a Partner in the Birmingham office specialising in Project Management. He has Twenty plus years’ experience on projects ranging in size and complexity.
Robert works hard to engender team spirit and an ethos for the team where the client’s requirements are paramount. Robert will plan ahead making sure that all risks are managed effectively and that there are the correct project controls in place. Good communication is an important part on all his projects.
Robert’s experience includes the full array of project management duties from inception and feasibility through to project completion. Projects have included a phased project in a live airport to developments on tight compact city centre sites including various city centre office developments. The variety of projects Robert has worked on has provided experience of large project teams with a range of different internal and external stakeholders to small internal client teams.
Adrian is a Partner within the London office, specialising in Project Management and Contract Administration of projects. A technically biased professional, Adrian brings multi-facetted expertise and experience to projects, using his previous experience as a designer where he worked on a number of challenging and award winning schemes. Bringing over a decade of experience in the industry, Adrian’s experience includes occupier led development, sensitive refurbishment projects through to large scale complex multi-phase regeneration projects with multiple stakeholders and interested parties.
Having worked extensively in the residential and mixed-use sectors, Adrian has worked on a number of innovative schemes and projects, ranging from Government funded research projects through to early adoptions of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Adrian’s experience spans the full cycle of duties, ranging from inception, feasibility through to completion and handover.
Ian is a Partner and Chartered Surveyor within our London office. Ian joined Quantem in 2019, bringing with him over 20 years of experience within the industry.
Ian is client focused and has a strong track record in the successful delivery of complex private and public schemes. He is highly motivated and skilled in providing strategic procurement advice, estimating and cost planning. He adopts a value based focused approach to project delivery and takes a very hand’s on approach with a can-do attitude. He continually strives to exceed client expectations. Ian has worked on numerous projects covering various sectors of the industry, these have all ranged in size, value and complexity. It is this depth and breadth of experience that he can continually call upon to meet the needs of clients, teams and projects to ensure they are delivered successfully

James was one of first recruits to join Quantem Consulting and has now been with the company for over 10 years.
With his solid background in delivering both pre and post-contract services, James brings wide experience and an enthusiastic attitude to pre-contract cost planning, procurement and post contract financial management.
Commercially aware and goals focused, James develops strong relationships with his Clients by understanding their business and working hard with the design team and contractor to deliver projects that fulfil Client expectations.
James has a wealth of experience in the Commercial Offices sector and has been involved in a number of high-profile projects for major developers and HQ Buildings for end users.
Peter is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has worked in both the New York and London office for Quantem.
With a strong background in delivering both pre and post-contract services, Peter develops strong relationships with his clients so their needs and expectations are understood and met from the outset.
Now based in London, Peter brings a wealth of experience from the UK, Europe and USA in a wide variety of sectors. These include offices, retail, residential as well as hotels and leisure representing developers, operators and end users.
Derek is a Partner responsible for Commercial and Residential Development and also leads Quantem Consulting involvement on the Parliamentary Framework for Strategic Estates. Derek is a director of the VVA Quantem joint venture in North America with offices in New York, Boston, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Derek has over 30 years’ experience in the industry and has worked on a number of prominent development schemes. He has worked in a number of overseas locations including Europe and the USA.
Derek was the honorary treasurer of Revio (formerly known as the British Council of Shopping Centres) and also a member of the RICS Commercial Property Market Forum, RICS infrastructure panel and the UK Green Building Council Leaders Network.
Nigel is experienced in all capacities of commercial management of many sectors, including Commercial Office, Residential, Education, Healthcare, Transport, Aviation, Civil Engineering, Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Projects.
Nigel is passionate about the timely delivery of first-class results for all clients, generating consistent repeat business. Nigel is a thoroughly organised yet flexible team member and a fervent believer in the advancement of others. Nigel’s charismatic, professional and considerate approach has been an asset to all of the teams in which he has worked.
Rob joined Quantem in 2007 as a trainee and was one of the first to go through their graduate programme becoming chartered in 2010. He has through the years worked on a variety of schemes from Grade II house refurbishments through to new build offices, this broad range of experience has helped Rob understand key drivers through a number of different sectors.
He is an enthusiastic and committed member of Quantem, which carries through to the Projects he works on. Rob’s focus is to provide a high-quality service on all his Projects, this focus is centered around the Clients key deliverables (cost, quality and time) and managing these commercially through the scheme.
Primarily involved in project delivery within the commercial sector. Daniel joined Quantem in 2007 and was promoted to Partner in 2008 and continues to deliver contracts over a broad range of commercial categories.
His background in mixed-use master-planning and residential massing planning and has helped develop his skills in feasibility work that enables detailed estimates to be established at very early stages of design.
As part of his role within Quantem, Daniel is involved with understanding market feedback and emerging tender patterns. He considers strategic procurement advice as one of his strengths.
David is a Partner in the London office, and has practiced as a consultant quantity surveyor for over 20 years, after beginning his career working for a building and civil engineering contractor. His experience extends over a range of sectors, working on projects from inception through to completion. As well as project work, he has given quantity surveying expert witness evidence in court.
In addition to wide ranging experience in the commercial office, residential, and industrial sectors he has also helped to deliver a number of significant projects at various national museums and galleries and film studios.
Working collaboratively with end user and developer clients his expertise extends to working with project teams from master planning to detailed cost planning, procurement and the construction period, where his knowledge and experience help to reduce risks and deliver successful project outcomes.
